About Robert Ivy

Robert Ivy is the current EVP and CEO of the AIA. He is a registered architect, and has worked both as a corporate executive and magazine editor in the past. Prior to joining the organization, Robert Ivy worked with McGraw Hill as a vice president, editorial director, and editor in chief. He pursued his education at the University of the South and Tulane University for his BA in English and M. Arch. in Architecture respectively. Consequently, he is skilled in publishing, architecture, content development, editing, content strategy, copywriting, proofreading, and blogging, among many others. Through his leadership, Robert Ivy has helped to transform the AIA into a proactive, influential, and responsive organization. He has so far streamlined AIA’s governance, launched an award-winning public awareness campaign, and built new digital-first technology infrastructure. One of the honors he has received is from the Alpha Rho Chi, a national architecture fraternity.
