Guilherme began to seek out a different career path and found an opportunity in an ad in the local newspaper. The ad was placed by the Casa Faro travel agency, and they were looking to hire a new salesman. Guilherme Paulus jumped at the opportunity and quickly found himself on his first sales trip with a group of French people.
It was on his first trip that Guilherme Paulus discovered his passion in the travel industry. The passengers on the trip were very bored, and Guilherme felt that he could fix that. He set up fun activities for the passengers and the trip ended up being a huge success. He set up his next trip as soon as the first one was over. The sale is never over for Guilherme Paulus. While on another one of his sales trips, Guilherme Paulus met a politician man named Carlos Vicente Cerchiari. Carlos noticed that Guilherme had a natural talent for the travel industry, so he proposed that the two form a partnership. After a few months of thinking it over, Guilherme accepted. The two businessmen went on to found what’s now known as the CVC travel agency in 1972. Carlos left the business venture after four years, but Guilherme still managed to make it succeed.
Gulherme’s talents were soon recognized by many international governments. The French Government awarded Guilherme Paulus honors for his many contributions to the development and promotion of tourism in France. Other countries that have recognized his achievements have been the United States, Mexico, Venezuela, and Argentina. Guilherme has also received attention from the media, especially in his home country of Brazil. He has been given several titles such as Personality of the year and Executive of Valor by many Brazilian media outlets.
